Rocker Shoes For Plantar Fasciitis

Hi, today we’re going to talk about the use of what are called rocker soled shoes in treating pain under the ball of the foot, pain in the big toe joint, and pain at the heel and problems such as plantar fasciitis. Now, when we normally look at using a shoe, this is a pretty normal athletic shoe, pretty firm heel and pretty stable, and like most good shoes, it’ll bend naturally where the toes bend. Now, for most people, that’s fine. We can take a decent orthotic, either a fullsize orthotic for athletic shoes, or a much smaller.

Device for dress shoes and if the people are having pain in the big toe joint or under the ball of the foot, those will do a great job of taking stress off those tissues and making them feel better. But for some people, they continue to have pain even with the orthotics and a lot of that is because as they walk forward, they’re putting a lot of pressure on the ball of the foot. For example, this type of shoe allows you to go like that, and as you go like that,.

You’re putting really tremendous pressure on the ball of the foot, and the big toe joint is asked to bend a lot, which is normal, but if you, for example, have arthritis in the joint, it may not be able to do that without pain. So one option is to get a shoe that has what’s called a rocker sole. Now a shoe with a rocker sole is completely rigid on the front. I can’t bend it. This is an excellent running and walking shoe, a brand called Hoka, HOKA, that has a great rocker. And because it has.

A rocker, as you walk through the step, you’re not being asked to bend the big toe joint. And rockers have been used for over a century now as a way to transfer pressure off the ball of the foot and get it to a part of the foot that is less painful. They also do a great job of taking pressure off the heel and putting that pressure forward. So this is a great rocker for an athletic shoe but you need rockers on dress shoes also. Here’s a dress boot from a company called Earthy that has a great rocker on it. So that.

Really does decrease pressure on the ball of the foot and compression in the big toe joint. You can do that with a really good custom orthotic like this, such as made for a dress shoe. There are also some prefabricated orthotics you can find on our website. Here’s even a much higher heel stiletto that has a platform and a rocker. So if you go to our website, do a search for rockersoled shoes. You’ll find a page there that lists not only some information on rockers, but lists all of our favorites, whether they’re.

What is the best orthotic for high heels and dress shoes Review by Seattle Podiatrist

Hi, today we’re going to talk about dress shoes, and particularly women’s high heels and how to make them more comfortable. So in particular, we’re going to talk about different types of orthotics that you can put in your shoes that will improve the comfort substantially. So the biggest problem that women have when they wear dress shoes is they get pain under the ball of their foot primarily, then secondarily they get pain under the heel. But mostly is the ball of the foot, because you’re putting a lot more pressure on the ball of that foot.

So our goal when we try and treat this problem is to transfer the pressure off of the ball of the foot and get that pressure back here onto the arch. So you do want to use an orthotic device, obviously it has to be a very specialized one. The best orthotics for this problem will conform extremely close to the arch of the foot. The tighter they grab the foot back here, the less pressure there is under the ball of that foot. Now, however, when you’re starting to look at shoes like, let’s say, this one here, that’s.

Pretty extreme. it’s not my shoe, by the way. but in this type of shoe, it really takes a specialized orthotic to fit into it. So this is a custom orthotic here. This one, again, matches the arch very, very close, but it’s meant to flex so that it fits well in the shoes. So I can take this and fit this even in this very highheeled shoe, lay it down. It fits in there very, very nicely. It does a great job of transferring pressure off the ball of the foot onto the arch of the foot. Right?.

Now, this is a custom orthotic and they tend to work the best because they conform closest to the arch of the foot, but there are also some overthecounter devices that work great for this problem. In fact, if you go to our website and just in the search box put in dress orthotics, you’ll find a page that has a list of the best types of dress prefabricated orthotics, depeneding on the type of dress shoe you’re wearing. So for example, if you’re wearing a slingback, a shoe that doesn’t have a closed back, this.

Type of device here won’t fit in there very well. but this is a very specialized device here. It’s called The Slim Fit Orthotic. It’s prefabricated and it has a sticky bottom and it can be moved from shoe to shoe, you just keep this thing wet and you’re able to move in from one shoe to another. And then it’ll go, let’s say, into here, and even if this.this one has a back, but even if it didn’t have a back, that would stick in there. And although not as effective as the custom orthotic, it would do a really nice job at transferring.

Pressure off the ball of the foot onto the arch. So again, go to our website, do a search for dress shoe orthotics and you’ll find a list of what to look for in custom orthotics, and you’ll find a list of some of the best prefabricated orthotics that will make dress shoes much, much more comfortable.
